These are really good, showing great pop and separation. Great examples Mike!

I have to say, this August heat is killing me, but the photographer in me won't quit.

The images that Mike has provided look great. 7Artisans has just released a 75mm 1.25 for $450 shipped. I wonder how this will compare?

I'm a wide angle shooter mainly, but the photos in this thread are very good.
For sure Mike has a good eye ! And the lens is interesting!

Thank you, Robert, your kind words are sincerely appreciated.

All the best,

Mike I am wondering if you have shot with the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8.

I have the above lens and like it but am curious as to how the two compare in the view of users.

BTW which I have not said so before I really like your documentary images of Japan in this series.

Hello Peter!

I have the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8 Heliar Classic VM lens and it is no slouch.
Please don't ask me why I bought the 75mm f1.5 if I already have the 75mm f1.8 - if I can't logically explain that to my wife I doubt I can logically explain it to anyone else.

Here are a couple of blog posts I did using the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8 Heliar Classic VM lens:
https://yokosukamike.blogspot.com/2016/07/out-about-with-voigtlander-75mm-lens.html
https://yokosukamike.blogspot.com/2016/10/three-days-and-voigtlander-75mm-f18-lens.html
(If you click on the first image in the post it will go full size, then just keep clicking to view like a slideshow)

The two lenses are somewhat similar but I like the newer f1.5 a bit better than the f1.8.

Hope that helps.
Mike

Haha haha.

You do not need to explain to me Mike. I am constantly doubling and tripling up on lenses in focal lengths I like. Good to know there is someone just as addicted as I am.

Often too only partly about IQ. More often its about handling or looks. (Just like wives - Oh I can't say that its "sexist". Oops too late I said it - besides I am sure women say the same or worse about us guys). :) :) :)

More seriously I will check your posts out.
