What are your experiences with the Voigtlander COLOR-SKOPAR 21mm F/4 LTM? Looking to put an M Mount adapter on it and fit to a Leica M3. Of course it will also have an ext VF for it. Anybody doing this combo?

Haven't used it on an M, but shot a fair bit with mine. It's pretty consistent with the other modern(ish) Voigtlander lenses: sharp, good contrast, good handling. The front element is not recessed, so a hood is a useful addition (there's an LH-1 in the Classifieds right now). I don't use it often, but it's a good option, albeit one with few competing choices.

If you find a lens minus the VF, PM me - I think I've got a spare lying around here somewhere.

Are you asking how the lens performs? Or if it works with an adapter on the M3?

My experience is that it’s a great performer, and works fine on the M3.

K I had the m mount version, but later bought the LTM. It works fine with an m mount adapter. Beautiful lens. I’ve used it on a Leica iii and now on M4 & CL

Maybe you can find some useful information on my link collection to lens reviews https://sites.google.com/site/wosimsphotography/leica-camera-lens-reviews/links-testberichte-reviews/testberichte-objektive-leica-lens-reviews-12mm-25mm

Hope, this is helpful.

21 is same formula LTM and M for F4. I'm 100% we have image thread,s for it dated from 2006. I'm just not in the mode to do someone else home work and google it.
I read, seen many threads, review of this lens. Lynn is master of LTM version of this lens. He has plenty of images in the Gallery with this lens.

I have the Nikon S-mount (SC Skopar 21mm f4), which I use on my Contax iia. It is the same lens as the Leica ones, just Nikon-S mount. I really love this lens. I think I use it 2-3x as much as the 50mm f2 Sonnar. I just got a 35mm f2.8 Biogon, so we will see if this becomes my new normal with the 21mm f4 the go-to wide and the 50mm Sonnar for tighter shots.

The 21mm has unscrewed itself (the glass assembly). I think it came a little loose new, and once I discovered the issue I carefully snugged the element, and it seems to be ok at this point. Maybe check it if you buy one. This may be unique to the Nikon mount lens.

Tiny, light, fast-focussing, pretty much distortion-free, and as sharp as you like. The focussing action is smooth and well damped, and the aperture clicks positive. To my mind the only real downside is a 90cm closest focus.

I have used mine on my M3, but I find its size and weight are a better fit for my Bessa T. Still I like mine enough that I treated it to a Leica 21mm accessory finder.

Great lens

Great lens

I have this lens which I use without an auxiliary viewfinder on my Bessa R4. It is a great lens. I have not experienced the flare that others have noticed with the it. Ken Rockwell likes it ....what more can anyone say?

The CV 21mm f/4 Color-Skopar LTM is on my Barnack most of the time. It has a sharp, modern look. It works well for street photography.

This is how it performs into the sun @f/11. Some flare I don't mind. Yellow filter.

Over 300 CV21/4 LTM pictures in my Flickr album.

I haven't yet used it with an M-adapter. Its small size makes it ideally suited to Barnacks IMO. It has a pleasantly solid build, almost jewel-like. It has a stick, which I don't mind. I use it with the Voigtlander 21mm metal finder, which is smaller than the plastic one.

Lens is great for street, up close.
