Mine is LTM but passed through the hands of a lens master before it arrived at my door. I have faith this one will be stable longer than I will. It does handle light so very well and I like that a lot. It helps with my shortcomings.

I've been happy with my Canon 35mm F2.8s. Both in chrome and black paint, both have been solid users for me and also easy to DIY service yourself.

Checked out the Ultron, to my eye it looked like it had some haze, not a 100% but not risking it for the price. Looking like I'll be going the Canon with all the extra's but I've found an S Mount 35mm Nikkor-C that looks clean. As far as I can tell the Amedeo adapter is only usable with 50mm lenses. Are there other options? Is there that much of a difference in quality to warrant the hassle?

The Amedeo adapter for Leica M I have works fine with my Nikkor S mount 28/3.5 lens. It only pulls up the 50 frame line, if I'd realize that I'd have bought the LTM one so I could have swapped LTM/M adapters but I just pop on a shoe mount VF or use the whole of the finder and run with it. It mounts just fine and ranges correctly. If you want to easily use multiple focal lengths get the LTM one. I mostly use 50's so the M one isn't a big hassle for me.Checked out the Ultron, to my eye it looked like it had some haze, not a 100% but not risking it for the price. Take note that the Amedeo adapter alone costs north of $250.Checked out the Ultron, to my eye it looked like it had some haze, not a 100% but not risking it for the price. For that money, you can buy a brand new Voigtlander Heliar 40mm f2.8 LTM that won't have any issues with fungus, cement haze or anything.I'm going to check out the condition of the Ultron today but at $850aud I'm hesitant even if it's very clean.
I just noticed that you picked up a Canon L1, so I assume you want LTM lenses. There's also the 28mm f2.8 Color Skopar LTM, brand new and recently manufactured, although more money.

OTOH, once you own an Amedeo you can buy as many lenses as you want that fit said adaptor without having to pay for another one. Think of it more as an investment...
