Just wondering if anyone here has experience shooting with CV lenses in Nikon mount on a D600, D800 or D800e body?

We all know of the (mostly) superlative yet costly Zeiss options on FF DSLRs but what about the CV lenses that, although not undergoing the same design process as Zeiss lenses, are made in the same Cosina-owned factories.

Just curious because, as my writing / photography work ratio nears equilibrium, I find myself moving away from my heavy Nikon zoom lenses and once again to manual focus lenses.

*a disclaimer: I don't own a D800 and nor do I have a need (or wallet) for such high resolution files but it is good to know - if lenses can perform well on a D800, they should be excellent on a lower resolution D600 / D610.

I don't have a D600 or Voigtlander lenses but I do have a D800 and had a set of Zeiss ZFII lenses and sent them back to B&H. I purchased them looking for high performance wide open corner to corner. I do documentary work and wide open performance is very important. I purchased the 25 f2, 35 f2 and 100 f2 and to my surprise they were seriously lacking wide open at the sides and edges. They really didn't get good till they hit f8. The 100 macro had terrible chromatic aberrations wide open and down a stop. They performed no better than the same FL in my Nikon glass and in some cases not as good.

The D800 is brutal on glass so I wouldn't get my hopes up on the D800. On a D600 it might do quite well.

I'm curious how the Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 90mm f/3.5 performs as it seems to have received very good reviews. Ah, no matter - and so the long, expensive Zeiss route continues....
