Michael--

This lens has a definite signature and your style is consistent, what I see different in your images is a change in texture. Have you changed either your film and processing and perhaps also scanning, or have you gone to a digital camera?

As always, I really enjoy your offerings, the images are compelling and the culture is so completely different from coastal Texas.

I reiterate, it was your images and this thread that motivated me to get my own 35/1.2.

BTW, this isn't out of focus, it just isn't sharp on the face. Perhaps your attention was elsewhere?

Warm Regards,
--Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for the nice compliment, I appreciate it....

To answer your question, no, I haven't changed the film nor the lab that does my developing and scanning.....and I am still using the same gear so I am not sure whats up, and I don't do any post processing on any of my photos.

As far as the photo of my friend goes that is "not focussed properly", I am 99% sure I was focussing on her eyes, but I understand your question. The problem is, out of the 2 rolls of film that I shot with her, there are many out of focus photos of her......I am usually pretty good at focusing and have never had so many "out of focus shots" before, so I think something is up.....

I am going to do a complete test tomorrow on all of my gear and see what/if there are any problems......thanks again....

cheers, michael

such beautiful women ...

I agree with you Paul, the women are beautiful.......I was in a part of the country that is on the Mekong River and you have a wide variety of people from Laos and Vietnam who have mixed in with the local Thai people over the last couple of centuries and there are many unique (beautiful) looking people in that area....

In Thailand there are many crocodile farms, it is a pretty big industry here, and sometimes when we have floods, hundreds of crocodiles will escape the farms and swim in the main streets of cities (including Bangkok).....I am afraid of them and do not like to go out in the waist deep water during these times....

Thanks for posting these shots Michael.

I find it very refreshing to see people that appear to be genuinely happy to have their picture taken.
