Voigtlander Nokton Classic 28mm f1.5 ??

@Yokosuka_Mike Now that's you've had the Nokton 28 for a while, how do you find it? Looks like you're getting a lot of use from it. What aperture do you generally use for these street photos?

The short answer is that I like the lens a lot and I shoot street with it at f2.8.

The long answer is that this lens is phenomenal and is capable of so much that it’s hard to know where to start telling one about it.

If a person can master shooting street photography with this lens, they can tell stories with their images that are beyond comparison (of course in my opinion). Get the main subject front and slightly off center and have an interesting background… What could be better? This is the approach I try to take with the 28mm wide. Also, with a max aperture of f1.5 many other photo opportunities present themself.

This lens inspires my creativity… It makes me happy! And, nothing can compare to that!

All the best,
Mike

I have a Type 1 Matt black copy and it’s a lovely lens. Small and nice ergonomics. Makes nice pictures. Fred Miranda compared it favourably with the Summilux I think - whatever, works well on M11 and film so far

So this lens is good? I love my 28 Summicron and have been close to going for the Summilux several times. But then I look at the size, price, and bokeh and decide the Cron is good enough.

If this lens is good on a Sony too, that’s icing on the cake. The Cron gets all smeary in the corners on my A7RII.

I’m really tempted to pick it up. Everything I’ve seen from it looks pretty good. Is the Fred Miranda review the most comprehensive one or is there somewhere else I should look?

I’ll try it on my S1r later if I get chance and see how it works. Not quite as think a filter stack as the Sony, but more than a Leica

I ended up getting this lens. Haven't had a chance to use it in anger yet, but it's going to be real hard to recommend a Leica 28mm with this thing on the market. As much as I love the Summicron, this is lens is very, very good.
