I purchased a used Voigtlander VF 101 recently which was sold as ‘functioning’. It is in good condition and it does work. However my first roll of film revealed a problem; the film rewind does not work as it presumably should.
All 35 cameras that I have previously used had a simple plastic mount in the rewind socket that mated with the film spool. The rewind was a simple matter of cranking the spool.
The Voigtlander VF 101 has a flat socket to receive the spool. It seems that there is a brass wire that is anchored on point and attached to the spool on another that tightens over the projecting end of the spool and then spools back the film into the canister
In my case the wire has one end hanging loose and I’m not clear as to where i should attach it.
Question: Is this method of rewinding film back into a film canister used by any other camera, for example, a Rollei or .... ?
