Looks great, I bet the Guzzi and the Honda sound amazing. The Vitessa has chrome pipes too..
I'd love a Vitessa but have resisted. These pictures are not helping!

A great shooter. Just picked up my old Vitessa with Ultron lens from Tokyo where i'd left it. Fab camera, but it has a light leak somewhere. Anybody know someone who repairs these in the US?

I have put in another roll of Portra 400. The light meter still works, so on this next roll I intend to use it's suggestions for every exposure. The Vitessa's meter only goes to 200 so I am going to overexpose the 400 by 1 stop. Next roll I will get some Portra 160 and try that at 200. I am even trying to learn my EV values to utilize it's coupled aperature and shutter speed. On this roll I used the FotometerPro app on my Iphone as a light meter.

Some nice Cafe Racers there.
Sadly my Vitessa scratches the film.. the pressure plate has some issue.. which is a shame as it is a great camera.
I do have a pic of my bike taken with it (neg scratches and all), I'll try and post
btw I shoot Porta 160 @ 125 which works well.

Just a suggestion, my meter works too, and is accurate which amazes me. All you need to do is add 1 to the EV number the meter gives you at 200. I like to be around 250-320 so I just add .5 which works because the aperture has half stop settings.
Have fun!

Thanks Ranchu! I see what you mean by adding 1/2 -1 EV. I think I will try that. I might try bracketing 3 shots at the meter reading, +1/2EV, +1EV and see what is optimum.
I had some scratched shots at the beginning of the roll. The Vitessa may not like the extra tension of a 36 exposure roll. The combi-plunger seems harder to operate on the first few shots and then smooths out as I go through the roll. I am sure it could use a CLA.

I think everybody's could use a cla, ha. My finder is pretty murky, but I'm too paranoid to have it fooled around with, I'll just put up with the relic's quirks. I wanted one for so long.

It's been so long since I shot a Vitessa L. Some 40 years now, but I still remember the joy I had shooting chromes with it. The guys on the boat called it my periscope camera. I don't recall having trouble with long rolls of film. You got some good results with yours.

My father gave me his old Vitessa for christmas one year. He bought it new in South Africa in the late 50's. It has the Ultron lens.
Unfortunately, the shutter needs a cla and I have not plucked up enough
courage to tackle it, despite having done numerous other cla's on other cameras.
I think it's almost time.

How embarrassing. You seriously trying to pretend you don't know how that was made?

milosdevino, before I forget I wanted to link these pictures (not mine), maybe they will help. Seems to me the biggest problem with the ultron is undoing the back ring (no slots!), maybe you can go through the front... http://fotoarsie.blogspot.com/2008/01/vitessa-restauro-di-un-capolavoro.html

Nice shots vonfilm. I have a Vitessa T on the way. It too has the Color Skopar 50mm f/2.8 lens.
Can't wait to give it a run..

I'm probably going to have an issue with the seller. I paid for priority shipping and he shipped via parcel select. Won't be here till Monday 7/15. Once it arrives I'll check it out then will be expecting a refund in part of the shipping cost if the camera checks out..
We'll see....
