I've noticed a small wheel, on back of the camera body, next to the viewfinder window. What function does this wheel serve? 😕 Is it a viewfinder diopter adjustment?

it rotates the small cube in the finder that changes the view from 35 to 50 to magnified rf spot . there is a readout on the top plate , the red pointer spins to show the selected finder .
