Hi All!
I use an epson 4990 and after messing around with silverfast I tried vuescan and liked the colors much better.
The problem is that no matter what output I want i get 600K TIF files max.
I want 300 DPI to A3 size.
What settings do I need to use?
Thanks
Mike

Make sure the input quality is set to 'archive', maybe the input is set for something small.

I get 42 meg tiff-here is how using vuescan
1. set 48 bits per pixel
2. preview and scan resolution 2400 dpi
3. number of passes 1
4. no settings in filter
5. Color balance manual then right click in each exposure a nuetral color for proper color balance
6. output tiff file at 48 bit RGB
save profile for future use.

BTW, the color will came screwed up. Just go into photoshop elements or photoshop. Then go to levels and adjust each color. You will love the results.
