Interesting comment because in using Vuescan for 8-9 years I learned not to bother with most of the options. I have used the same settings for 5-6 years.
The problems that I had were many, and trying to scan color was an exercise in frustration. I think that it's best to get the color as accurate as possible during the scan and then make final adjustments afterward.
I just found the software to be too clicky and finicky. I know that many people love this software. I wasn't one of them.
