Having just taken delivery of a fine looking w-Nikkor 3.5cm f3.5 for my Nikon S2 I was dissapointed to discover the aperture markings don't line up. They are off just a tad, so f3.5 sits at the f4 mark and so on. I am pretty sure there is an easy fix for this. Whilst I am no lens guru, I have in the past been able to rectify small problems with rangefinder lenses. Any thoughts on how I might go about sorting out this little problem?

Remove the front lens group, I believe a stopper and spanner both are needed..IF I remember this lens, you have 3 pins that locate the cup to the ring. The reason should be evident when open, is the ring smooth or dry?

Thanks for answering Mike. The ring is smooth and all seems well with the click stops. I could live with it but it is kinda annoying.

I haven't owned this type of lens, but other Nikkors can have similar misalignment due to the way the front elements are screwed into place, sometimes without a set screw.

shoot a test roll, check if the exposure changes correctly...then you know if you want to mess with it
