W-Nikkor C 3.5cm f/1.8 Photos!

i'm guessing you bought a good few rolls before they discontinued Neopan?

I did! I'm glad I did too because film prices in Japan have gone crazy since then and the current locally available alternatives are about twice the price I paid for the Neopan.

I came to Neopan400 accidentally - I always used TX400 and when at some point TX400 hiked up in price in China mainland I tried a roll of Neopan 400 not expecting much - it was about half the price of TX400 back then.

I couldn't believe what I saw and since then always had a brick in the freezer until at some point I didn't shoot film for a few months and was completely taken by surprise when it was announced to be discontinued.
Prices since then exploded but luckily TX400 came back a little.

Neopan 400 is such a fantastic film - I always liked it. I have only one single roll left and am back using TX400 :-(

Here's a splash of colour for an otherwise predominantly B&W thread. Shot on Fuji Superia 400 XTRA with a Leica IIIf and LTM W-Nikkor 3.5cm F1.8 "classic".

Nice Jon! I love these shop front shots and do them too whenever I can.
It will be interesting to look at these in a few decades as time progresses.

Here's some photos from the 2017 Kanamara Festival (aka Penis Festival) held today in Kawasaki City. Its an actual Shinto religious festival, but I don't think there's anything else quite like it in Japan. All photos taken with a Leica IIIf and LTM W-Nikkor 35/1.8.

Those are some great color shots Jon - quite interesting and funny to see this festival from a gaijin's perspective ;-) I bet you had a great time shooting these!
