Here's some photos from the 2017 Kanamara Festival (aka Penis Festival) held today in Kawasaki City. Its an actual Shinto religious festival, but I don't think there's anything else quite like it in Japan. All photos taken with a Leica IIIf and LTM W-Nikkor 35/1.8.

Those are some great color shots Jon - quite interesting and funny to see this festival from a gaijin's perspective ;-) I bet you had a great time shooting these!

A recent one with my favourite lens.

Thanks! I did have a great time indeed shooting those shots, Dirk!

always wanted one but I cannot afford it at the moment 😱😱😱

I lucked into two good deals on S mount versions a year ago. One was completely disassembled. After putting it back together I sold it for more than twice what I paid. The other needed some cleaning but was otherwise in nearly new condition. Of course, I had been looking for months for an affordable copy before these two deals came around. Just proves that patience sometimes pays off. I love using it on my SP. Have a roll in there now I need to finish off and develop.

You guys are killing it with the 35/1.8. What a special lens with interesting signature and character. Funny thing is that for an old single coated lens is how modern looking the rendering can be at the same time.

I now have two 35/1.8 Nikkors in LTM. I ended picking up a second one at a good price. There is oil on the blades and the front element has a coating scratch, but my main lens is perfect. I had to buy the second one because not only is it a rare lens, the price was crazy low, even despite the imperfections.

I will likely get the second 35/1.8 recoated by John at Focal Point.

This is a great thread. Thanks.

Cal
