W-Nikkor C 3.5cm f/1.8 Photos!

tried it this time on my cheapo NEX-3N, the camera that I use for testing lenses that's not for the F-mount

DSC00630_zpscyx746kd.jpg

wish it can focus closer. swirly bokeh typical of some older fast lenses...

DSC00643_zpsijcgmvhi.jpg

useful for lowlight..

DSC00642_zpstjy1ad6f.jpg

on crop sensors, it's not wide enough...

DSC00639_zpsxusescjl.jpg

close to the minimum focusing distance. really like the rendering of this

DSC00638_zpsxwf9qxxr.jpg

nowhere close to the nano crystal lenses in this regard but i like how it rendered this scene

DSC00632_zpspcetdamc.jpg

this scene outside my studio is my lens damage test location. the bokeh balls should tell what's wrong with my lens. in this case, (not this pic) I got some artifacts where my lens has suffered coating damage due to fungus. looks like specs on the surface of the lens.

Finally got around to developing and scanning the Neopan 400 I shot in Kyoto last December.
This is Sannen-zaka (Sannen slope) near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a famous street lined with arts and crafts shops.

I was reading Dante Stella's piece on the Konica UC-Hex 35/2 and how it likely is a copy of the W-Nikkor C 35/1.8. Anyone use both and/or prefer one over the other?

Yours looks very good, Jon. Mine (No. 352559) always has weak corners at the bigger apertures.

Nikon S2, Nikkor 35mm f/1.8, Tmax400.

Erik.

Impeccable composition as always Erik ;-)

What a beautiful view Jon! I also like the shot down the wooden staircase above!

I couldn't take any photographs outdoors for some time but here are a few I just uploaded all done with a LTM W-Nikkor on either a Mono or a M246:

I can see why! You are getting lovely results with your choice of film + developer along with the lens.

Thanks! I developed the Neopan 400 (I have about 300 rolls left ;)) in Super Prodol. A good match, as you'd expect really.

Thanks Dirk. Kyoto certainly is a photogenic place :) Here's a few more shots.

Great photos Jon, of those two iconic Kyoto temples. I have to say, the Golden Temple, my least favorite of them all, looks much better in black and white.

A couple of very recent shots on some original Agfa APX100 film (I still have a few rolls in my fridge, but not many, alas).
