Film Shooter...Forever!!
I'm an happy user of the Nikon->Leica M adapter built by Amedeo, but i have a problem with my W-Nikkor.C 3.5cm f2.5
I have always used the adaptor with my lovely Nikkor-S.C 50\1.4 and i have got no problem in the last year, perfect focus on both my M3 and M6. Reading on the forum about the impossibility to use the nice Nikkor 35\1.8 with this adaptor i decide to try the 35\2.5 because i read everywhere there were no problem to use it.
Saddly i have problems (as always ^_^) because it seems the rear part of the lens touch my rangefinder mechanism at the end of the run...between 5 and 3 feet. In the begining i was thinking about a problem of the camera...or maybe the short distance of the focus (too short?) but when i focus with the lens not mount on the camera i understood the problem...when the helicoid of the adapter disappear in the front you can see the rear part of the lens appearing for 3mm enough too touch again the rangefinder and to confuse the focus and to move the frameline...you can see a little jump back in the rangefinder so you really don't understand where the focus is...
Now the point is: is there anybody else with the same problem?
Is it only my adapter with this problem? Or Maybe on some other models of the same lens the rear ring around the lens it's thinner or different i don't know...i could try to unscruw it (there are 2 little hole and one very little screw on it) but i don't wanna destroy my lens so i would like to know from someone more expert than me if there is a solution.
I have attached 3 pictures to explain better what i think it's the problem, in the nikkor 50 you can see nothing in the mount when it's focused to minimum distance, in the nikkor 35 at infinity you see the helicoid of the adapter but at 3 ft you can see the rear part of the lens...in a place where there should be nothing 🙁
Thanks anyway for any help or suggestion
