Just messing around and thought I'd post this, it was for a friend who lives in one of the white houses on the left and he wanted a view from the other side as a little personal momento, you know one of those 'I'm here on a postcard' type of thing, a little fun as whilst I don't mind stitching pics the HDR render isn't a thing I'd normally do, but hey for a pal.

IIRC it was the Olympus E-420 and 14-42 lens. 2 Pics stitched with 10yr old Canon SW [Photostitch], HDR with Photomatix and a run through Topaz for a little sharpening, border added with Gimp, iMac 2011 ~ Mac OS High Sierra. [On the hill is The Peel Monument - Ramsbottom]

Color landscape of a quince bloom.

We had a few days of warm weather and our quince started blooming. I'm sure winter's not over. We'll probably have an ice storm next week. That's the way Louisiana weather goes. This is a rarity for me. I seldom shoot color (or flowers) but this just had to be.

M10 before sold it in 2024, w/50/2 Zeiss ZM....west of Santa Fe at White Rock, NM near Los Alamos at the Lookout park.
I used to go there while living in Santa Fe to try out lenses, 35 min drive, there are benches you can sit on at edge of canyon.

Rio Grande River seen below in canyon and stretching to NW and beyond to Taos 50ish miles north

I’ve been reflecting on how deceptive landscape photography can be. We often think of it as a 'grab,' but capturing a scene properly requires the same patience as wildlife photography; you have to sit it out and wait for the light to cooperate. In many ways, black and white is more forgiving because it strips away the complexity of color. This is a good idea for a thread.
