Boris and Lynn: love the belly and chain shots, AND lynn's gursky shot. lynn, you have to enlarge the gursky to 6-8 feet wide, and glue it face forward to a plexiglas panel. then it will be worth at least 4 million. 🙂
Tom, thanks. I'm still deciding between the two approaches. Both were shot with my M8 and a 28 Elmarit Asph. The color one has zero post-processing other than Aperture's own conversion from RAW to JPEG. The b&w shot was converted from RAW to b&w in Aperture and then I twiddled with levels.
my vote for the black/white version - i think the metal (and glass?) surfaces against the cloudy sky are beautifully lighted, and the touch of extra contrast adds drama to the whole image.
