Boris and Lynn: love the belly and chain shots, AND lynn's gursky shot. lynn, you have to enlarge the gursky to 6-8 feet wide, and glue it face forward to a plexiglas panel. then it will be worth at least 4 million.

Rob, I like both versions of your last shot, but really like the subtleties of hue and texture in the color version.

Tom, thanks. I'm still deciding between the two approaches. Both were shot with my M8 and a 28 Elmarit Asph. The color one has zero post-processing other than Aperture's own conversion from RAW to JPEG. The b&w shot was converted from RAW to b&w in Aperture and then I twiddled with levels.

my vote for the black/white version - i think the metal (and glass?) surfaces against the cloudy sky are beautifully lighted, and the touch of extra contrast adds drama to the whole image.
