Dave: I told my wife that we are going to Parliament Hill next year for Canada Day, as it's one of the things I've promised myself I'll do. She hates crowds, so said we can go camping in the area and I can go do my thing while she hangs at the campsite. Sounds like a plan to me! Maybe an RFF day in Ottawa a year from now?

Thanks to all in Canada. Actually, April 6 is the de facto independence day for those of us to the south. On that date the colonies opened their ports to shipping from countries other than the UK, thus denying the right of parliament to regulate trade. Oh well, the other act of independence was approved on July 2, 1776. Took a while for the news to get out. We never have been overly careful in our history. Just a thought.
