Hey... thanks for that 🙂 I'm up in our nation's capital this weekend (right now in fact) and I've got my IIIc and lenses with me - I'll be doing the sam as Bill but I'll be in the thick of it 🙂

Thanks for the greeting Philm 🙂

Canada Day celebrates the creation of the dominion of Canada through the British North America Act on July 1, 1867, uniting three British territories — the Province of Canada (southern Ontario and southern Quebec), Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick — into a federation. (See Canadian Confederation.)
in OttawaThe holiday itself was formally established in 1879 and was originally called Dominion Day, making reference to the term "dominion," which was first used to describe a political union within the British Empire for Canada, at a time when the British government was hesitant to adopt the name proposed by the Fathers of Confederation: Kingdom of Canada. The name was changed to Canada Day on 27 October 1982, largely harking of the adoption of the earlier Canada Act 1982.

Dave: I told my wife that we are going to Parliament Hill next year for Canada Day, as it's one of the things I've promised myself I'll do. She hates crowds, so said we can go camping in the area and I can go do my thing while she hangs at the campsite. Sounds like a plan to me! Maybe an RFF day in Ottawa a year from now?

Post some shots of your day yesterday!

(BTW, yesterday's outting to Hillebrand was successful; great food, great wine, a picture-perfect day. I had Walgreen/Vista 200 loaded in the Tower 51 and will get it processed and scanned once I finish off the roll.)

Thanks to all in Canada. Actually, April 6 is the de facto independence day for those of us to the south. On that date the colonies opened their ports to shipping from countries other than the UK, thus denying the right of parliament to regulate trade. Oh well, the other act of independence was approved on July 2, 1776. Took a while for the news to get out. We never have been overly careful in our history. Just a thought.
