w/nw Ordinary Things

It's interesting to see the things that folks consider ordinary.
And also, what folks consider beautiful.

We don't know what Merton meant by his quote. Personally, I'm less interested in the ordinary thing itself than I am in how it presents in the context of light, form and texture, setting, etc. -- as in photographic elements. Would I be as interested without a camera? Probably not. So maybe this thread was started with a false premise.
