Here is one of many red-headed bugs. It is also a composite image of many red heads - 52 to be exact. Stacking images at differing focus planes gives the depth of field in the image.

PS, the clear dome at the back on the head is one of two primative eyes. The other is just above it.

PPS, not taken with a rangefinder.
