The very same Scallywag in the most impressive and alarming bits of yacht maneuvering I've ever seen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mi9axqd2pU
Impressive and alarming indeed!
A few years ago I raced the King of the Derwent, a regatta run shortly after the Syd - Hob that often attracts a few of the big maxis. I remember Ichi Ban at the start, how the crews would get on starboard (right of way) at the windward end of the line and then just power up, hitting the line full-speed bang on the gun. Utterly terrifying but incredibly impressive to be around.

My daughter aboard the trawler "Lu Seal" on Lake Michigan a couple miles east of Chicago. We crewed for the owner, who was taking the boat to a show up the Chicago River. Olympus XA2 & Tri-X.
