w/nw Your Kit

Not a picture of everything I own in the way of photo gear, but a picture of my most recent acquisition, a 'cord Vb, taken with--gasp!--a digital camera. Believe it or not, I actually did take some pictures with the old-timer and developed the film, but I have not made prints.

here's mine

here's mine

Just shot this outside with a cruddy digicam (not my digicam). See the first pic for evidence of how much multicoated filters really do cut down reflection. One lens has a cheap Tiffen on it. The others are B+W multicoateds.

Pretty camera, I must admit. Looks like you still need the 135/4.5 though

Just got a B+W UV for my collapsible Summicron today. Makes me feel much more comfortable running around with it :) It's already got enough marks in it's 60 years...

Aiming for one for each day of the year, Bill?

No, to be honest, I'm just an idiot. Really, it sounds like I'm bragging - whoa, check me out, I've got 150+ cameras! But really, most of them were $5 wonders that no one else bid on and I thought maybe I could coax back to life. Some I did, some I didn't. I do shoot with a lot of them, though - it's fun to see what they can - or can't do. And with the classic fixed-lens rangefinders, when someone says the GSN has a better lens than the Canonet, I'd like to know if that's true - at least on my copies of those two cameras (it is). Like my penchant for chasing down rumors by calling up camera companies - I like to actually try things out, and with ancient fixed-lens and some removable lens cameras so cheap...well, it just got kinda fuzzy about that time.

Sad state of affairs. The whole shootin' match is worth less than some of the fine single cameras ya'll have been showing. My *ist DS and Bessa R are the most expensive of the lot, and by far.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

Here's my 35mm mainstays. Eventually to be joined by a Zorki 3m if that one ever gets back from the CLA.

Geez people! You're all encouraging me to acquire some more gear! 2 lens kit? Pah! How about 2 bodies and 3 lenses! Someone stop me!

Bill - I'd love to see a bigger version of that photo so I can have a proper nosey.

/wanders off trying to decide which is more pressing: hauling out all the gear to photograph it, or starting work for the presentation for a job interview on Friday.

Decisions......Decisions

Decisions......Decisions

I have a few hours to spare on a dull day and I want to use up some XP2. I've already eliminated the Z50 and P30 Pentaxes and the oly Mju, the bessamatic will fill the bag but I want to test it out. the same with the ME super. In the end I took the Canon and the Fed with J12 and 50mm, but only used the Fed and 50mm.

I've just got too much gear.

Regards, Richard F.

trittium: that is one awesome picture; it has buckets and buckets of atmosphere! Have you tried this combination for portraits? I can imagine some great things.

Here's approximately one-half of my Main Axe system, taking a break during a wedding shoot; pictrue was taken with the other half. Yes, one of those Champagne glasses was mine. :)
