Waiting for film to come back

Control all of the process myself... develop my own b&w.

The anxiety now is... where did I put that adapter for my film scanner that I haven't hauled out in 1.5y!?

The waiting period at my lab is anything between 24 hours to 5 days. When I know I have shot some good stuff, the waiting is painful. I literally count the days. But fortunately I'm only taking snapshots at this moment, so anxiety levels are low 🙂

When I shoot stuff that I shoot all the time, I don't care how long the wait time is since I probably won't be looking at the results in weeks. But if I have just shot with a new process or new style, I am so anxious to see how it turns out. But fortunately the wait time is only about 1-2 days so it's not too bad.

I develop my B&W stuff myself but for the colour it goes over to the labs. E6 stuff a week (because I don't live nearby so I only visit on the weekend) and C41 stuff about an hour at BigW (supermarket sort of place). but they stuffed up my last two rolls so I may give up on colour film unless I can process it easily at home, or just pay a little more and get it done at the lab which does my e6 stuff.

My local shop stopped 1-hour service a few months ago. Turn-around time for the lab is a week....goes out on Tuesday, get back on Friday.

I deal with it by taking more pictures 😉

I would like to have the time for developping and quality scanning. Nowadays it is not possible and thus I rely on mail orders. If there are important images or new stuff in the roll, it is a hard time to wait. But normally the time I stock the rolls in my fridge before I send it out for a bulk processing order is far longer than my waiting time.

It is all very realtive...

I develop my own b&w film: I am the lab.
