What: Walker Evans Exhibition
Where: Cantor Museum @ Stanford
When: March 10th or 11th?
Extras: A little shooting and then some Beer & Gear @ The Oasis

I had the pleasure of quickly cruising through this exhibition the other day and it's definitely worth a visit in my book. It's been a few months since we all got together so I thought I'd pop up this suggestion (nice reminder Darren!).

Has the earmarks of a great day: Great Exhibition, Good Company, Beer and Burgers. What's not to like?!

Thoughts? Date preference (Sat or Sun, 10th or 11th) ?

Well, one's idea of 'Good Company' may differ, and therefore an earmark not to like.

For me, it really depends on whether the Sacramento Clan shows up. Every event with them ends up in a strip club. And they bring strobes.

Sounds like a great idea to me (notwithstanding Mike's predilection for Sacramento hookers, er ah, strippers... yeah, right, strippers... ha!). I would prefer Saturday but can likely make either day.

I'm assuming they'll come in their Mayan War Headdresses and chest shields, as usual.

I kind of prefer Saturday as well though I can make either day work.

If anyone can't make it to the show on either March 10 or 11, let me know. I can't make it either, but I would be willing to meet up the following weekend. Walker Evans is a fav. of mine, so I'll likely catch it at some point. Thanks for the heads up, Kent.

It's a good show. Includes earliest works thru the SX-70 'roids, and is strong on the good stuff from the FSA and Let Us Now Praise Famous Men. I was thinking of seeing it again, as my personal interest began with W.E.

Since he's all about social outcasts, should be a good fit for this crew.

I'm up for it, but can only make it on the 11th, which should accelerate the momentum to do the 10th. :D

(Careful here folks, that Honus is tricky. He may actually be able to make the 10th, but by saying the 11th, we'll commit to the 10th, and then he'll suddenly appear on the 10th- "Hey guys and gals!". But he may be anticipating us anticipating him, in which case, the 11th may be the only day he can attend, and therefore.........Let's just be careful and think about this more before we commit.)

This sounds great. I've never seen a collection of Evans' prints, even though he remains a favorite of mine. As for scheduling, I can only make it on Sunday, the 11th. No foolin'!

The 11th is making a comeback! I was going to include a poll for the day but I didn't want to tax Mike's brain too much...hard enough for him to figure out that "quick reply" thing.

You know, while the SF group has tried to teach me how to use "quick reply" multiple times, it doesn't mean my brain can't handle it. Maybe the teachers don't know how to teach to someone with a bigger brain (I don't mean just head size here, but, like, you know, thinkage)? Yeah, that must be it. Self-esteem intact!

I can do Saturday the 10th.

I didn't intend to pick the day opposite to Robert's, but I propose we settle which day we attend with a break dance competition.

Personally, I would rather vote than break dance. I've seen Darren's moves, which are quite impressive, and I would prefer not to have to rent my dog suit again.

I have a family conflict on the 10th, so I can only make the 11th. I suppose we could always arrange for getting together either day if there are enough people interested in each day.
