bought it locally for a good/fair price…
$20 for the faux leather case
$2.50 for the plastic thumb thing
$8. for the metal hood/adapter

i paid full price for the lance strap though!!!

one fits perfectly and the other is very hard to get in the hot shoe and almost impossible to get out.
i emailed him and asked wtf and he does it on purpose to ensure one fits…but he doesn't say that in his advert!!
still pretty cheap though!

well five bucks for one is still very reasonable and I like the idea of plastic which is inherently softer than metal. Some of the cheaper metal ones look like they could really do some damage

as much as i would love an all black x100 i can't justify the extra cost.
find a nice regular used one and save yourself some money.

I just got my x100. Can't decide about a case myself; seems to me a case would protect and might add to looks(x100 will have no resale value in a year or two, maybe in 50) but actually it would get in the way in my pocket and shooting?

the x100 is not a pocket camera…the sony rx100 is a great tiny pocket camera but not the fuji.
i use the case in winter…it gets very cold here and a case helps. plus, i carry it everywhere, over my shoulder on a long strap and a case will help with the inevitable bumps.
