i thought you liked that lens, are you being tempted elsewhere?
joe
Not quite tempted, and in fact I like that lens a lot. My problem is that I like almost ANYTHING that crosses my hands, and that's pretty bad in the end
While on one side I'd like to stay simple and use the one camera / one lens / tri-x mantra, on the other I cannot stop to think on how much I'd like to try this or that.
And it never ends.
Argh.

Joe, the possible issue with this trade is that I think the 1.5 is rather scarce, definitely seems to be rarer than the 1.4...

I agree with Oscar, you may have to sell and then buy. The 50/1.4 should sell easily when you decide to go that route.

the 1.4 is a sweet lens, why not keep it and buy the 1.5? When you get tired of the Sonnar look, you can always go back to the charm of the 1.4.

the short answer is i don't want/need two 50 mm lenses.

Somebody twiddle the knobs, Joe's gone all fuzzy. I could have sworn I read that Joe said he...ah, never mind. That's just crazy talk.

I just acquired a P w/o lenses, and need a 50mm. Nothing to trade, but am interested in the 1.4. What would be your price?

i would like to trade my canon 50/1.4 for a canon 50/1.5.
mine is in very nice shape but it's not mint.
some tiny cleaning marks on the front element, back element seems clean.
there is some dust trapped between elements but i noticed them with a loupe.
photos show no negative evidence from the above.
comes with a tiffen skylight filter, rear cap and original canon s-50 hood (in fair condition).
i also have a mint s-50 hood complete with canon leather case, also mint, looks like it was never used. this i would sell with first dibs to my trading partner.
if a trade does not work out then i will offer the lens for sale.
the lines are open...
joe
Christophe, here is Joe's for sale ad for this lens. Good luck.
