Hey guys, I just wanted to say that in the last few weeks, I've been working with a customer service rep, Carmen, at Leica NJ, to get my lenses calibrated for the M9. The customer service standard has jumped considerably now that i am working with her. Now my phone calls and emails actually get answered and I get a date on when my stuff is getting shipped back to me. Just wanted to give a thumbs up for the excellent service I've been getting from Carmen and I'm finally feel like I'm getting the service as i should for a premium product like Leica. just wanted to share some good.

Glad you have a story with a happy ending about Leica NJ. Most of what we hear is horror and gore! 🙂

However, my vote of confidence for them goes to Dave Elwell.

Take care!

You are lucky then.
My M8 stayed there for one month, nothing was done to it. I was told that I need to wait at least one more month.
When I ask them to ship it back, they send to a wrong address. I had to catch up the UPS truck to get the package in the rain.
And the camera has been left on, so the battery was drained.

It better be, after all they have drained you for $7k and x number of $ for the lens. For the record, I sent my Dlux4 for warranty repair and took 1 month. I thought it was fair and they resolved the problem.

Well... I did have a good experience, even though the first time I sent one of my M6TTL bodies they didn't quite fix the problem. The second time I shipped it, they worked on it pretty fast (about 10 days) because I told Tony I was going on a trip with the camera and needed it back ASAP.

For about 6 months, the camera worked perfectly. Then, the light leak returned; they fixed it for free (under repair warranty) and it's worked perfectly ever since (knock on wood! 😉 ).

So, they do work often.

hey dogbberry, my M9 was turend around in about a week. My lenses are taking about 3 months, but I'm having quite a lot done to them. 6 bit coding, focusing adjust, one of te lenses needs a front element replaced and another one needs a focusing helicoid replaced.
I'm still waiting on my lenses, but i'm thankful i can get through to them now. was practically impossible in the past

Leica NJ has always done exemplary work on my cameras- M8, M7, MP- though now most or all of the film camera work has to go to Germany. I just got an M7 back after a long wait, but the camera is once again a dream. Everyone I've spoken to has been attentive and returned calls/emails promptly. No complaints on anything except turnaround from me.

Good to hear !

I am waiting for my M7 to come back from them, it was the second trip to Leica NJ for a warranty repair ....
