How many is enough?
Hi all,
You may have seen my suggestion that I posted in the middle of another thread, but many probably didn't see it, so I'll explain here.
Two things struck me recently with regard to RFF...
1.- The bickering that was going on, and, until now, I thought totally out of character for the nice, decent, members that I enjoy talking to here. After all, we've all been proud of the fact that we ARE NOT like some of the clods over on PhotNet! I'm not excluding myself either, for I've posted a couple of posts in the past that I'm not proud of either. (Frank G- read this as an apology!)
2.- The posting by PetarDina where he stated he has trouble finding the spare cash to even buy film.
So, IMO we need to interject some positive Karma into our little internet oasis and I suggested we offer PetarDina some token of support for his hobby. I emailed him asking if it would be OK, and he sent me back a very warm, sincere message where he is obviously touched by this offer, and said "yes" to my offer.
I am proposing that RFF members send to me whatever would be easier for you to send- either a small offering of film, (one or two rolls) or a very small cash donation (a few dollars or euros) that we could send him to buy the film on his end. I'm stressing that the donations be small, as quite a few members have already contacted me privately and said they'd contribute, and, after all, we just want to jump start his hobby a little, not buy him a new house! 🙂
BTW- "PetarDina" is a pseudonym, made up of his two son's names. His real name is Vladimir.
I will make a donation, and also pay the postage for the package we send. I will keep a record of what was sent to me, and forward it to contributing members as proof that i sent everything. My address follows.
