War-time 50mm Elmar 1942

Hi Jim,Welcome to the forum.
I have seen a 1942 50mm f3.5 Elmar (S/N 583806) and the information about the lens is given as follows:-
"delivered on May 2nd 1944 to Berlin (delivery number 13015)"
Would this be a lens for the German Military or is it just a Leitz delivery number to a German civilian customer in Berlin?.
The lens appears to have no military mark or engraving.

Greetings Fujinon, The 5cm Elmar 583806 was originally shipped to the Italian Leitz agency Cattaneo on 6.8.43. Returned to Leitz on 15.9.43. then
sent to Berlin on 2.5.44. No indication of a military customer. I suspect the lens went back to Leitz AFTER Italy changed to the Allied side.
What would the lens tell us if only it could talk? Thanks, Jim Lager.
