Oh dear i had a R3a to go along side my R4a i used the 21,25,28,35,on my R4a and the 50,75 on my R3a but guess what i sold the R3a after 4 months and bought a 75 viewfinder now i use 21,25,28,35,50,75 on my R4a.Now im taking more pictures two bodies just complicates things.Keep it simple thats what ive learnt.Oh and if i want to go realy wide i just go out with my L and 15 and 25.

how does the 75 focus on the r4 body? any problems up close or full open?

Man, if I had to decide among eight lenses that close together in focal length, which I was going to use to take a photo, I would never take a picture! ;) Impressive collection of glass!

It is a RF zoom collection.

You have both so why not try it? ;) I use the 75 on the M6, I must admit that personally I wouldn't like to use a much shorter EBL with that lens.

I appreciate how you feel; The one thing I miss about the VI-L is the 1:1 finder so I keep getting thoughts of an R3/R4 combo probably with the a versions to gain AE. It is something I would like on the Leica but no way can I justify an M7. Then again, I know how I felt about the R I had and know I would miss the M6. So I then think what about swapping the M6 for a ZI. But if I do that do I go for an R3 for the 1:1 or an R4 for the framelines. For the time being, I think I will just try to take more photos and see how that makes me feel.

kim, it's winter here, time for gear changes and deals to be made.

i'd love to get out more for shooting but my old bones are just too hurtin' to be out there for long periods.

i had to laugh at your suggestion to try the 75 on my own r4 as it never occurred to me to do that...doh!
the zi has the ebl for the 75 easy.

maybe i'll save the money from the r4m and put it towards a trip home next summer.

I wasn't suggesting you being out this time of year in the frozen wastes of Canada but more for me. ;) I need to convince myself that my RF kit is fine as it is. The biggest problem is that the new ZK range of glass is sooooo tempting.

Trip home sounds good. Don't forget the new boat is due in May if you cross the pond after then.
