Hallo,

Is it me or does this film need longer wash times than other films (HP5+, APX400, FP4+,PanF...)?

I normally wash for 30 minutes, exact same thing with this film and it still had deposits a plenty.

Cheers,
kully

Hi Kully,

What sort of deposits? Water stains, fixer residue? I wash Neopan 1600 for about 20 mins and have not had any particular problems. Water in Oxford is quite hard, so I should think your washing for 30 mins is plenty.

This is lovely Reading water Alkis, probably as hard as if not harder than your Oxford stuff 🙂

But reading your post got me thinking - it's gotten nippy lately and I wash in the garden with the outside tap...

Wash water tempreture?

Wash water tempreture?

au naturelle 😀 - whatever temperature it has as it comes out of the tap.

I believe it is suggested the water should be in the same temperature as the developer/fixer to avoid reticulation, but I 've never had any problem with small temperature differences.

I believe a good rinse at the end with distilled water will solve your problems
After you are done washing rinse with distilled water, dump
rinse again with distilled water, hang to dry

That will tkae care of most of the dissovled salts
