We have the winner !

Congratulations for the winner. I hope that enjoy much with the ZI.

Thanks too for the sponsors, for the moderator, and all the people that create initiatives like this.

I am glad to have collaborated with one photo.

Remy,

Congrats - it was a finely composed shot. Now that you have a ZI perhaps we'll see some side by side digi/film studies? 😉

When you get back to NYC - be sure to bring it along!

How many sepia toned prints did HCB make? If colour was banned because it wasn't in the spirit of his photography why is sepia ok?

I think it's a pleasant photograph by the way, I'm just struggling to reconcile it to the spirit of the competition.

Yeah, I had trouble with the rules, too. What is the spirit of HCB? Ok, Remy's photo is the best IMO and I was the first one to vote for it.

CONGRATULATIONS Remy!
I'm truly happy for you, even though I had another horse in the race (I supported Beniliam's picture). In spite of that, as I said in the other thread, I wish I can do such a beautiful shot once... it is very well done.
I'm looking forward to your new pictures with the ZI!
Cheers!

Tarasi, I like your picture very much. However, I think I would have cropped it differently. If its ok with youI would like to edit a copy and post it.

My personal favourites were nos 5 and 6 (and 7 😛 ). I wanted to win, of course, so I voted for myself (can you blame me?) but if it hadn't been my photo in the finals no 5 would have gotten my vote. I just love that shot, Lutz!

I thought cropping was prohibited. 😕

"That being said and reading the thread about the rules, the idea is for the photographer to do the work in the camera and not after the fact. It is true you can shoot at 35mm and crop in to get the same crop as a 50mm but that defeats the purpose. Use a 50mm and take a few steps back."

Congrats RML, great photo, as others in your gallery. It´s nice to know that it was taken with a Bessa R (my camera). Please, use that ZI and show us some photos.

Thanks, Remy - and congrats!

I was pleasantly surprised to find two of my shots amongst the finalists which totalled 174 votes together... ;-) The funny thing is, they were both taken no further than 5 minutes from where I live: one while waiting for the tramway, the other while riding it. So much for taking your camera with you whenever you leave home. ;-)

Thanks for organizing this and thanks for all the votes received!
