Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

Tornado siren has been going for over an hour now.... Thanks to Alabama for sending them our way.:p

Got several cameras loaded but the 3" hail is just south of here and the tornado just passed by us. Hope I don't get any pictures!

So it is tornado storms! Better duck, and stay safe. When Hurricane Ivan came to Pensacola, we drove up north to Huntsville (Alabama). Gues what .... we were told there that there will be tornado storms!

I had a great photography morning today. We had dense fog, and since I was exercising my Mamiya 645E with Zeiss and Schneider lenses, I drove to Joe Patti's Seafood Store at the waterfront downtown Pensacola. I may have gotten some nice shots of fishing boats and birds with a fogged up background of other boats and wooden pillars. I want to try out the scanning offer by Precision ....

It is weekend again, and the weather is cool but wonderful overall. We have a (very) sunny day with blue sky, and I am itching to take photos with a MF or with a RF 35mm camera today. I am still waiting to get back two rolls of 220 film from Precision Camera so that I can see how good/bad the Schneider150/4 Xenar lens is on the Maimya 645E before I use it again. It has a very good reputation as an excellent lens.

What are you up to wherever you happen to be living?

It is weekend again, and the weather is not that great here but not bad either. So far, I have only used the camera in my phone for a few short videos and a few snapshots at the beach today.

What are your plans for this weekend?

The weather is sort of murky here this weekend - fog, drizzle, damp, chilly - so I'm going to prep some papers for cyanotype prints for my students so they'll be ready to go next week. If I have time, energy, etc, maybe I'll also prep some papers for some salt prints as well. Or, maybe I'll just have a scotch or two and sit by the fire!

Loaded the bag up with Contax and 80/1.4 , M3 50 Sonnar and the GRD but the light was bad so I bailed .

Maybe tomorrow but failing that it`ll stay packed for an outing next Wed.
You all stay safe from those weather fronts...

Mark and Michael,
Poor weather is always an excuse to stay home with the family and watch TV and drink some hot tea.

My wife and I went to Midwest Photo today, and I bought a BIG flash for my Sony Nex3. My Son is graduating high school in June, and will be studying Graphic Design. I am giving him a Nex3 body, BIG flash, 16mm Nex lens, and 18-55mm kit zoom, as a graduation present. Found the two kit lenses online today, and picked them up.

Then went to the local Bohemian university restaraunt and had a delicious lunch.

I walked around the hospital campus yesterday (Friday) while my wife was having some test at the neurologist. I had 2 hr's to kill so took the Bessa R, CV352.5 loaded with some Arista Premium 400. The weather was sunny & beautiful, high 50's. Finished the roll & reloaded with an expired roll of T Max 100. Shot part of that roll & will finish soon.

Today, (Saturday) weather is nasty outside, but we need the rain. Gave me a chance to develop my roll from yesterday. D76 1+1 @ 10 mins. Negs are drying now. 60% chance of rain tomorrow but hope for a break to be able to get out & walk. I don't care about the Superbowl this year.

Congratulations on the soon graduation of your son. Cool gift too.:)

Going out of my mind... have finally isolated the problem with some Portra 400 scans. It is the local lab. Ruined two rolls of color film and the scans are bad too. Not only that but two rolls of black and white scans came back bad but at least the negs were okay.

Totally frustrated.

On a positive note, had the grandsons (ages 7 and 5) since yesterday and gave them a couple of Nikon SLRs and let them shoot all they wanted...they loved it and no longer expect to see an LCD screen with the digital image after they shoot! :D

Attempting various camera repairs but not having too much luck so far.

Haven't exposed a single frame in a few days. I think I should take a little drive tomorrow to see something fresh. Good thing I don't care for the game.

Dave you might want to try sending your rolls to Precision Camera or think about investing in a film scanner, especially for your docu. work. Local labs on my end are becoming more lousy on scans & higher on the price. Sorry to read about the lab ruining the color negs. That hurts.:(

Yeah, Precision is the only way to go...tried to get some work to my buddy but it just isn't going to work.

Predictable end of the week the way things have been going lately. Grrrr.

Tomorrow, I will be out and about as if nothing happened.:D

Today is grey! Perfect!

The R4 is loaded and ... well, I have no idea. It will be a high of 70F so who knows? What is everybody else doing on a grey day? Reckon I will go for a long walk and then a ride on the bike this afternoon.
