I'll be in Boston/Cambridge tomorrow, for the first time in years. Harvard Square and maybe later on in the Kenmore/Fenway area to drop some friends off at the Red Sox game. Bringing the Bessa-L and 3.5cm Nikkor for color, a Rollei p&s for bw, and a Brownie Reflex for fun!

Shooting my friend's wedding (not as the formal photographer) with my M6, 35mm lens, and Neopan 400.
Looking forward to an old-school Cape Cod time-- lobster bake, sailing, beach wedding.

I'm headed to Boston at the end of the month. I'll be there for a long weekend; my first trip. Do you have any sight seeing advice? We're planning on doing the Freedom Trail. What else is good? I'll be taking my M7/M8 and assorted lenses.

I will tomorrow drive to the beach to see if I can take some photos of stormy waters there. If it will be pouring rain, that will be nearly impossible though. We are experiencing some rain from the tropical storm hitting Louisiana now.

Looking forward to meeting the RFF Philly gang this Sunday, tomorrow. We'll be at the Irish Pub in Philly, and will either do a photo walk or visit one of the numerous events taking place.

Well I was planning on playing with my new (to me) Bessa R2, but the lens I ordered didn't arrive in time. UPS tried delivering to the wrong apartment, so now I have to wait until tuesday. Bummer.

Darkroom. Just banged out half a dozen work prints. Neopan 1600 in XTOL is SO GOOD. Scans for $h1t but silver-gelatin prints are glorious. Makes me cry that I only have 2.6 rolls left...

Is that Xtol 1:1? Stock? How do you do it please?

XTOL 1+1, yes. I use a Paterson tank and reels and the development times specified for small tanks in Kodak Publication J-109.

We've had a few Boston threads in the Travel subforum not too long ago, I think. I've been way out in the 'burbs for 10+ years now so you may want to look there for tips from the younger, hipper crowd. That said: The Freedom Trail, if you do it all, is quite a walk. Your companion(s) may not be up for much more than that. Add a Harvard Sq excursion and it's a day. I would also head to Newbury St, Fenway/Kenmore Sq, the Esplanade, and Chinatown for people watching (shooting). Memorial Drive (Cambridge side of the Charles river) is closed to vehicle traffic on summer Sundays and popular for walking, biking, blading and such. Pick up a copy of the Phoenix from a sidewalk box to find out about music and arts events.
