Just got back from Pensacola Beach where I spent some time with the kids. I used mostly the W-Rokkor 21mm/4 on the Standard Leica. It is a very pure set-up with no electronics at all. I used a CV 25mm since I was too lazy to locate the 20mm VF. The strong sunshine made it a 16-22 Rule Day, depending on how much glaring white sand was included in an image. I think, I got a few good images today. The girls had plenty of fun.

Wondered around Seattle for an hour on Saturday between other plans. Not great weather but I managed 11 frames.
Much nicer weather today but Sunday is for catching up on the work I didn't finish Monday-Friday so no photography today.![]()
I often thought about finding a job in Seattle in past years, but the weather is not to my liking there. Else, it seems to be a great place for living.

I did watch part of the Seattle Sounders [what non-Americans call] football game Saturday.
Used it as an opportunity to disassemble and clean a pair of Canon ltm lenses. I like the Canon 50mm 1.8 and Canon 35mm 2.8 construction - easy to deal with compared to some other lenses I've opened up recently. This should really help reduce the flare I was seeing as both lenses had some dried lubricant on the back of one of the inner elements.
Raid:
We generally have 3-4 months of stunningly beautiful weather in the summer surrounded by 8 months of overcast, drizzling weather. It definitely takes some adjustment, particularly for people coming from the warmer areas. I've worked with a few people who moved up here for a job from the south or tropical areas over seas who left after few months because they couldn't deal with it. I love it here though.
Have you been out here before? If not, consider a vacation in the summer, probably around July/August to minimize the chances of hitting lousy weather.

Hi Brian,
I have been briefly in Seattle in December once.
I should plan a summer vacation with the family in that area one day.

This weekend?
Oktoberfest with the Leica R4, Cron 50 and Rollei 80 BW film! And just for the heck of it, a panorama Minolta P&S with Kodak 200 film, never shot it and curious how well it will do.
Will still have the Billingham bag in the trunk with the other gear but not going to use it. Strictly one camera, one lens and a Paulaner.

If I get my Gaoersi 6x12 camera by then, I'll try to get out with that.

It is soon weekend again. The best invention by mankind? Maybe so.
It allows us to unwind a couple of days.
I will look for some opportunities at the beach tomorrow.
I may use the Contax G1 for simplicity .. it is so easy to make good photos with this camera.
What will you be up to?
I hope that you have a few things lined up.

Shooter of Film...
I developed a roll of Acros 100 (120) and a roll of LegacyPro 400 (35mm) today...
Loaded a Mamiya m645 with Tri-X 320 (220)...I've had this roll of film way too long...it probably expired in the late 90's...so I consider it a fun roll...
I really need to shoot something for me...

After a long nice indian summer the weather changed within one day to heavy rain and temperatures around 10 °C. Will be indoor this weekend sorting and arranging many scans to publish on our media server and a few shots also on the web.
Sunday my sister will celebrate her birthday. Also indoor. Will load the Hexar RF with Superia 1600 for the party shots. Still hesitant if I should start with 50mm or 28mm
Both lens will be with me.

wow. that 6x12 sounds insane. I'm not that ambitious, just reviewing the first roll of 35mm film (Delta 400) that I've shot in months, since I had to try out the new/used Bessa 4A I just picked up.
and #2) will continue to squeeze in some M9p time this weekend, and continue some lens tests, eg converted 1937 Sonnar that John Neal graciously sold me.

Flying tomorrow to Chennai on business for a week, and then on to Seoul. Although I usually shoot b&w, I'm packing a bunch of Ektar for India.

I spend a few hours with my children at the beach and at Ft. Pickens (Pensacola). Using an old camera (Standard Leica) has its problems; I did not have the film correctly trimmed and loaded. I figured this out one hour later, and I reloaded the film correctly.
I also used the Pentax Spotmatic F with the 58mm/2 Helios M-44. It felt good to use the F again. This is really good craftmanship.

I'm in Downeast Maine for the weekend, the weather is insanely great, but there's not a lot of fall foliage yet. Planning a long walk in Acadia NP tomorrow but I may just bring a P&S (Ricoh R1s) and leave it at that.
Still working on last weekend's roll of Tri-X @ 800. Took some shots of my wife and our dog earlier but in this bright weather I was shooting at f/16 a lot.
I also came across a Nikon 8008s in a thrift store today which I liberated for $5.

Tomorrow I take some "Mother and Son" pics amidst all the fall color we're currently experiencing here in northern Michigan. Will be using my Rolleiflex 6006 and may use my Canon F-1 so as to avail myself of the 15mm fisheye (fun pictures) and the 55/1.2 aspherical.
