Weekend Photography Plans: What are you up to?

Political picnic tomorrow, plus a visit to the street market nearby, should be some photo ops. Using the M-D262 with 3.5/50mm collapsible Heliar.

I went back to my M3 and used it today at the beach with the Hologon for a 16mm view. The 75 Lux was on the M8 for a 100mm view.

Today we took a drive t o Sazapahaw NC for lunch and photography. Lunch was good, photography wasn't much. Maybe 5 frames.

Tomorrow we're going out early. I will be loading a Holga 120 WPC Panoramic Pin Hole Camera with Arista EDU 100 and seeing how it will do.

Every weekend has a late afternoon walk. I usually take the M9-P and the Summaron-M 28 f5.6, but for a few weeks then the IIIf and 50 Elmar with Ektar 100. But yesterday I had Provia in the Hasselblad and wandered out with that and the 80 Planar. It was dim light so I took my monopod with a neat one way swivel quick release attachment. Photographed my usual subjects but very differently with this different set up. I had shutter speeds 1/30s to 1/125s and I used the mirror/rear shutter pre-release for all of them. I followed Ernst Wildi’s Hasselblad Manual advice to have the monopod out at an angle to make with my own two the third leg of a tripod. One set of little daffodils will be the acid test of my technique.

It’s a pretty day, I think I’ll go to the sunflower fields at Dorothea Dix Park and then swing by the NC Museum of Art and walk around for a bit.

Nothing. Its too dam hot in Washington DC to leave air conditioned rooms. In the winter its too cold. Spring and Fall would be great, but climate change got rid of Spring + Fall. Its either too hot or too cold.

Is photography a victim of climate change? :D

It depends where you live. In Pensacola where we expect very humid days, we got low humidity "California Days" for quite a while. If climate changed caused this pleasant change, then we got lucky here.

It is Friday again! Isn't it great that each week we can have a weekend?!
I will try to do some photography even though the weather forecast for the weekend shows rain and wind and who knows what else. I have in my camera bag a good mix: Standard Leica with Canon 19/3.5 ltm and B&W EFKE 100 film, plus the M8 with the 75mm Lux, and also the M3 with the 16/8 Hologon and Fujicolor 400 film.

What are your weekend plans?

Editing, scanning, playing with too many Polaroids...LOL

I am charging the battery of my many years old Leica X1 just to play a little ...

Up to Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire for the Vintage Sports Car Club short course competition. So lots of pre-war sports cars being driven hard up a challenging hill climb.

Weather forecast looking good, I have rolls in my Rolleiflex and Leica III so I'll take those and probably my Leicaflex. Or possibly one fewer camera if I don't want to be permanently crippled.

I will be going on a workshop at Mt. St. Helens to capture the Milky Way on Sunday. I bought the Rokinon 24mm f1.4 lens specifically for this workshop and I will be trying it out mounted on my D700. I've never tried to capture the Milky Way before so wish me luck :)

The Golf Resort I work for is holding their annual Tournament Sunday. My job is to monitor the hole in one contest. I’ll have the Foton with, hopefully get some sequence shots of a Happy Golfer!

I started out this weekend with taking some photos at Joe Patti’s Seafood in Pensacola this morning. I used film cameras and a digital camera.

What are your activities for the weekend?

Still too hot and wet here to go out and take photos, better staying home and work on my scanning, editing and printing...

I left our home at 7:15am this morning to catch some beautiful light at Joe Patti’s in Pensacola with the M9 and original Nokton 50/1.5.
Waiting for Josh RF for a Coffee Chat on cameras, lenses, and environmental pollution.
