welcome!

Joe, I do understand the allure of bags.

Hey, I got the Domke 5X bag per your suggestion a couple weeks ago.

Look forward to your evolving bag wisdom.

Great fun idea Joe.
Are we 'allowed' to post pictures here of our bags 'in action' and 'at rest'?

jesse

please do!

and talk about what works for you and what doesn't work regarding your bag as well.
we joke about bags but we have never really done a complete teardown of what works and what drives us mad!

glad that worked out for you!
the domke could be closer to perfection if they would do something about that top zipper!

Here in Paris (not Texas), and in Europe (aka Yurop), man bags are de rigueur; I have a few myself of different sizes. Then there's the few Crumpler bags (which are not easy to get in Frons)...and I'm hoping that one day I'll get that Billingham I've been hankering to get for the past three years (too rich for my blood nowadays).

I can vouch for Gabriel's comments!! I felt quite "at home" while in Frons... :)

Cheers,

This isn't quite what is expected but Joe did say I could post a picture. This is one of my cases 'at rest'.

Picked up at a 'car boot sale' one Saturday morning this little Canon case cost me 50p ( just over 35c). It looked rather better then than it does now but it's an ideal fit for my Lumix LX1. Goes on my trouser belt with a good loop on the back, and has a velcro flap on the front. The case is big enough for camera with a fitted Clearviewer but no space for a spare battery! This isn't really an issue because I have never taken a run of 100 photos before I've been back at base, downloaded and swapped batteries.
So, it works for me and no real issues when 'at work'.

Great stuff - you bagged it, Joe!

As for bags, I sometimes think I should buy another one, but my trusty Crumpler Pretty Boy 4000 (XL) is so nice that I can't think of a better everyday bag for me. I've had it with me everywhere - Tanzania, Kenya, Norway, England, Germany, Denmark... and it still looks like new.

The only niggle is that it has velcro fasteners, and you know - rip that open in a quiet space - it'll get you some attention! :)

I have 6-7 messenger bags, probably 10 or 12 backpacks, so many other bags, and I have 3-5 dedicated camera bags so I think I can definitely use some advice from the expert! :D

Looking forward to more BAS (Bag Acquisition Syndrome) attacking inputs from Joe!
...and thus the RFF supports a third of the economy. Congrats, Joe. I'll watch with interest!

I'm currently on holiday in the UK and I've brought three bags along. I brought a couple of cameras, iPad, chargers and other stuff in my Hadley Original while travelling. Been using the BBB-e first few days, mainly as it will fit a small brolly for the English Summer rainshine. Not really enjoying the BBB-e though and will most likely sell it when I return home next week. My other bag has been the Ona Bowery which is handy for carrying either the Ricoh GR or X100 along with other stuff. Stylish too.
I left my other bag, a Think Tank Citywalker 10, at home. Love the quality, the many pockets and its light weight but its too big for my small Fuji Xpro kit. Used twice, it is now in the classifieds.
While liking the quality of Think Tank bags I'm finding it hard to settle for one that suits me. Hence I also have Retrospective 5 thats been used only once. Personally I think I prefer a slimmer profiled bag and had hoped the new TT Mirrorless Mover might be the answer but from what I've seen online they still seem a bit boxy for me.
