I am interested in any information on pro photographers that are very well known (famous?) who have used the M9 and what their impression of the camera is. I would also like to see how many of them bought the camera because of how they liked the image quality and the use of a rangefinder along side or in replacement of the DSLR,s they use.

Roger Hicks springs to mind. I think he has made his sentiments fairly clear on this subject.
I think the Hasselblad H3D has been doing a lot of work normally done by 35mm format DSLR's. Interstingly I notice both Leibovitz and McCurry have been using it. It is surprisingly nice to handle, has a gorgeous viewfinder and ceratinly no complaints about image quality!

There are two review articles in British Journal of Photography about M9, one written by Jonathan Eastland as a general review and the other by Edmond Terakopian as a camera in use report, both working PJs in UK.
They both give praise to the cleaner high iso images up to 1600 for available light and getting rid of the IR problem, and both complain about the high price tag. The conclusion from both seems positive, Jonathan Eastland said its a step closer toward his experience from combination of kodakchrome and Leica lens, Edmond Terakopian said he would purchase after the recession had lift (aren't we all?

Check out Michael Reichmann's Luminous Landscape site. Michael has one essay on the M9 around the streets of Paris. In another he writes about why he is inclined these days to use the M9 also for landscape work, easing the burdens of DSLR or MF. And not using a tripod but a Manfrotto monopod. Interesting stuff. Check it out.
