Hi everybody, The title says it all; I received my Weltur last week and after checking
for functioning, I tried to collapse the Lens board. Unlike my other folders, I couldn't find
any tabs, levers or strut hinges that aided re-folding.
I did get the lensboard closed by pressing hard on the main struts at a point
closest to the body. Is this the correct way to do this? I really don't want to
damage any thing. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I'm new to this forum, and I can't begin to say how much info I've learned from
all of you.

I don't own a Welta Weltur. I do own Weltas and Weltinis. That is the way they close. many other folders I have close the same way, so that sounds right. Some folders have a tab/plate at the bottom of the deck that you push, but I suspect you have found the correct way. Have you taken any photos with it yet? 6x9 is a fun format and Weltas are great cameras.

Ok,
Basically you got it. But to make sure
You take your Weltur:

And hold it in the following way, so that your thumbs are as pictured (on both sides above the cutout in a chrome strut:

Than you press down with the thumbs gently, not too much force isneeded for this, until you hear a slight click on both sides and entire door assembly starts to close:

Press down on the door more - bellows with the lens will fold in:

And you are done when it clicks to close completely:

Done
Hope this helps!

Well done Krosya, good help. That is a beautiful camera. Often wished I had one, but I can be satisfied with my Zeiss Ikon non RF.

Krosya, those photos you posted showed that I was putting pressure on thestruts at too low a point. I placed my thumbs as shown and surprise, surprise, it
took much less effort than the way I was doing it.
