Well got home and there the parcel was, sitting on a table in the hall. The background to this buy is that I took a chance on the canera, a very blurred pc and even more vage description meant it was a true ebay gamble. Well it has arrived and the only downside is that it is actually a Werra I and not a V. The pluses out number the negatives, this camera is not only mechaincally mint and fully working, glass crystral clear, both shutters working as expected and meant to be. etc Importantly this jewel of a camera is in what I would say is mint - condition and is quite stunning, I cannot belive I picked this gem up for £25. Initial thought, well I am in love, its a really nice camera to own and hopefully use, I am however pleasantly surprised by both its weight and its build quality...............................now why have I now left it until now my 47 year to grab one of these beauties

They are just uncommon enough that £25 would be a reasonable price for a clean Werra 1 (IMO, of course) - so while you might not have a V, you do have a pretty good deal.
Now go burn some film and find out why the devotees love them!

I picked up a copy of P.Kroll's 'Werra - ABC' some time back. Happens to be in German but interesting pics if nothing else. I suspect it's an elusive book, but nice to have on the shelves and dip into now and again.
A WERRA 1 in that condition and at that price sounds very good value. I might have a spare Werra case if you are interested.
