Whacko eBay deal - Got $55,000?

This is at least the third time he is putting this lot up for bid on eBay. The seller seems to be legit - I just can't firgure out why he is not splitting it up - he will NEVER sell the entire lot - it is too diverse for a collector and who wants a golden Rolex anyway:)

Hasn't this whole agglomeration been up before? I seem to recall we had a discussion thread on it.

Just by rough estimate I would figure $35,000 - $40,000 is more in the ballpark.

There's some strange desperation that seems to be read between the lines, in my opinion.

It's funny, he lists this huge collection, then he has another listing for one $49 filter. Something strikes me as off kilter, it seems like a doomed transaction from the start.

(Sorry if it's a repost, I never read any other post on this)

Pretty nice stuff though....maybe he's just taking a stab at it, or wants to show off his collection. He should be a member here.....

He's paying a hefty listing fee each time he puts it up.

I think he's doing this so he can tell his significant other "Hey, I'm trying to sell it like you told me to, but no one will buy it."

He is an estate seller.

I've seen this same auction 3 other times listed with the same starting price so he may be doing it at the request of the actual owner..

hehe, that is load of stuff. and i don't know why he isn't splitting it up unless he is supposed to sell it all as a bundle or he is being lazy:) the seller is for real as I have bought things off of him twice.

Estate sale sounds plausible. The owner simply can't bear breaking up someone's beloved collection.

I was trying to sell a complete computer on Craig's List a few weeks ago but kept getting emails from people interested in only a part such as the monitor or the printer.

I finally broke it up and sold each piece separate in 2 days. I got nearly $300 more than I was asking for the complete setup..

So it can pay to break up a set..

This same seller has been trying to sell this for at least the past year or year and a half. The link pops up now and then here and, if I'm correct, on Pnet too.
