I just want to say thank you all for you help and not at least recommendations.
I actually ended up ordering the Zeiss C-Biogon 35mm f/2,8. Not by far as fast as I planned for, but I read so much great about this lens that I just had to give it a go.
One question to tho, this uses 43mm filters. Anyone have any recommendations on what UV/IR filter to get? Not many 43mm around I think.....
**EDIT** Google is your friend
B&W got filters.

I feel like the Donkey in Shrek, alone in the hideous swamp filled with scores of Leica, Zeiss and Voigtländer users...

Congrats on the Biogon Strangeluv, can we see pics once you've got them?

Both Heliopan and B&W supply their filters in 43 mm mounts. Foto Huppert is usually the best source for B&W filters.I just want to say thank you all for you help and not at least recommendations.

Hahaha! I know how you feel. I'd also advise Hexanons, like M-Hex 35/2. It's just it is so good its very hard to find one for sale. But in this case there really were many good choices, like CV 35/1.2 and 1.7. Also 40/1.4 an Minolta 40/2. Plus, of course, Biogons, Leica, etc.
Bu hey more Hexanons for us that know them and appreciate them. Loss is not ours
stupid leica
i don't shoot rf
i have the CV 35/1.4 MC Nokton, and i love it. Cost me $500 used after shipping. Can't argue with that.
I might be selling a Canon 35/2 soon.

It is a gem. I too would have considered a 35mm Hexanon as I already had the 50mm f2.0 Hex and considered it an outstanding lens. However, my Zeiss C-Biogon 35mm f2.8 is so fabulous that I now choose to use the Zeiss everytime unless subject matter really demands I use the 50mm focal length. Sean Reid's [subscription] review "35mm lenses on M9" makes very interesting reading for anyone considering thie C-Biogon. If f2.8 isn't a problem, the C-Biogon becomes a first-choice lens for 35mm focal length.
By the way; B+W UV/IR cut filters are black [good], whilst the Zeiss filter ring is shiny silver [not good], it is thought by some that the black filter ring gives added protection against any possibility of flaring. This lens is pretty damned hard to get to flare anyway, and unless you torture it, using the lens without a lens hood is quite feasible. Erwin Puts has an interesting article comparing the flare resistance of the 35mm C-Biogon and the 35mm Summarit on his web site.
I'm sure you will be pleased with the C-Biogon, please report back to this thread when you've made some work with it.

yea, for that price, i'd go for a cron v3. for that, you'd need to ponder coding, no?

As promised, posting a couple of shots taken today. I am really impressed with this tiny 35mm.
Incredibly sharp, and I just love the 3D effect it gives.

Another vote for the Biogon-C f2.8. Despite its obvious 'slow' speed, the quality is fantastic.

I have both the 35 Summicron V4 and the CV 35/2.5. Both are great lenses. The CV is smaller and sharper but the cron has soul. It is definitely worth the extra money.

CV 2.5 is awesome, I vouch for it, and its dirt cheap. The voigtlander 35 1.4 is a very good value for the money lens, I owned mine for just over a year and ended up selling it last month and purchased a 35mm summicron V2.
I dont regret it one bit. Basically if you buy a Voigtlander you will just end up selling it for a Leica lens down the road. The Voigtlander lenses are really nice, decently built, and very sharp, just the Leica lenses have a look to them that is incredibly addictive.
If you can afford it, get a summicron. If not, get a CV 35mm 2.5 and start saving for one.

haven't tried any of the 35mm summicrons or biogons, but my CV nokton 35mm f1.4 SC has been treating me really well. Got it for $500 with shipping like "stupid leica". look at my flickr for examples. Most of my recent pictures were taken with it + M8.
What ever you end up getting, you should be happy with. All the lenses listed above are beautiful!
