I found many adapters to mount screw mount lenses on leica M bodies.
some are very cheap, some others expensive...

are there real differences between all these rings? which ones have the best price/quality ratio?

thanks everybody!!!

Buy adapters from reputable brands like Leica or Cosina/Voigtlander. And equally important: get them from a reputable source! (e.g. like the one Stephanie suggested).

There have been posts about cheap adapters that aren't up to specs. At best these give pictures that are not critically sharp, and at worst, they don't even mount on the M bayonet. There was even a post on a Leica marked adapter, that appeared to have been fished out of a quality control discards trashcan and which was only half machined..

Hello vin,

additional it may be important to choose the adapter that brings up the right frameline(s).
That depends on the lens you plan to use with it.

If we know which M body you have & which LTM lenses you wish to mount on your M body, we can offer better advice on which adapters to buy.

the camera is a leica M2 (not yet arrived...) and I'd like to use a 35/2.5 color skopar, as well as a jupiter 85mm in it. maybe in the future also an industar 50mm...

Leitz, CV and Marumi are all good in my experience. Get adapters for 35 & 90 and expect to pay US $35-55 depending on condition. I think the CV adapters are ~$55 new.

I have 2 Leitz adapters. One is marked "13.5cm" and brings up the paired 35mm-135mm frame on my M5. I can use that adapter for both 35mm & 135mm lenses. If the M2 is similar, then you can shop for either a 35mm adapter or a 135mm adapter. The other adpapter is labeled "M2 50" and "M3 28-50". I use it with my 5.0cm Nikkor. I paid a total of $80 for the pair by shopping ebay. I hope this helps.
