What am I doing wrong?

Ivo:
Thanks for the screenshot that really helps, I really need to get to grips with PS.

Mike:
I will give this a try tonight and upload the result, it's good to know the exact steps to take instead of trying to decide what I should adjust.

Stuart:
It's reassuring to know that you think the negative should be almost perfect, as I am unsure what to look for, hopefully this will come as I develop more rolls. I also had a quick look at your Flickr site, I am going to Bradford next week so will take the M6 and try and get some street shots.

ZeissFan:
Thanks, I like your camera site, I would like to own some of the cameras described.

ijohnnyz:
Good to know it's not just Photoshop that will produce the results, I might also try a little harder with Lightroom.

Simon:
Your advice is just what I am looking for.
The book looks great, I have just ordered it so should arrive in the next couple of days.

I have recently been reading books by Andreas Feininger, which are really good, all of which were written in the 50's, 60's and 70's but his approach and style of writing are superb, he talks alot about seeing the photograph instead of the technical side.

I have looked at your photographs and they are just what I am trying to strive for and are a real inspiration.

Thanks

Don McCullin at the NMF

I’ve not got to it myself yet, but I will before September, take care in Bradford, it can get a bit edgy sometimes

be bold with one of the three files above, and then share it here when you've had a go.

Went over the top a little but, I now see what you mean
