What are the worst words in photography?

I cringe whenever I hear amateur photographers and hobbyists call cameras tools!
It's as if they are implying they make a living from their hobbyist cameras. That they have no interest in their cameras apart from utilitarian reasons. b@@@@@@t. Rant over

A bit late in the reply, but does that mean my hammer is no longer a tool because I’m not a carpenter?

tool
noun
1.
a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function.

Sounds like a camera to me.
Rant reply over.

From the mother of a 8 & 1/2 months pregnant bride-"Can you make her not look pregnant?" Yeah sure...get me a trampoline and a catchers mitt and give me 30 minutes...

From a bystander as I'm taking pictures with a Tamron 200-500 zoom and a motorized 35mm..." it that a camera?|" No...it's a death ray...would you stand over there so I can test it?

Heard while watching an idiot trying to mount a Nikon lens on a Canon camera..."but, I thought any lens would fit any camera!"

As a photojournalist, when trying to take candid photos of kids being kids:

Mom: "Smile for the camera, honey!"

An all time favorite of many of us here:

"Wow... That camera must take very good photos!"

A quote when showing off some photos, ca 2005, from my new-to-me Canon GIII: "You paid less than $50 for that camera and it takes pictures like that?"

My response: (LOL) No, I paid less than $50 for it and I take pictures like that! :)

Perfect response! :p

Years ago, back in the mid 70s. A passerby on catching up with me after me running to get a shot and my 28mm Nikkor having fallen out of my open bag and me not noticing it:

“Sir, I think you dropped this.”

Flattened focussing ring and smashed filter, the lens was irreparable.

Took me a year to save for another. Still hurts, though now I have insurance.
