Hi,
How about that nasty combination of "new" and "megapixels" and some strange new word no one has heard before and that they will all start worrying about because their current camera either has it or hasn't it...
Regards, David

"What are you photographing?" often followed by "Why are you taking a photo of that?"
Could be the start of an interesting conversation......but in most of the cases there is an attitude you can hardly overlook or ignore: Those People don't expect you to explain they want a justification or even an apology.....and some who got a friendly answer go away shaking their heads in disapproval......
Still I answer in most of the cases in a fiendly manner, knowing I will never see that .....person again

"Semi-professional". You never hear a scientist, a baker or a diplomat saying that.

How’s the photography going?
Are you still taking photographs....?
How’s your camera collection?
How many cameras is it that you have?
So where do you get it developed?
Hang on so if that’s taken on film, how did it get to be in your iPhone?

I´m sure these have been mentioned, but... Glass, Minty, Photog, Charts, Sharp, etc.

Hmmm, weird. So, is this someone who doesn´t make money but thinks they have the skills to do so? I`ve had people say that I`m a professional because they like my photography and they mean it is professional quality to them... but I always say I´m a proud amateur.

This Thread is saddening for me
there is not a single word or sentence left to use in my next post
I better resign

and i also hate "lense"
ok if multiple words are allowed, "maybe you should make an exhibition or something" (i get that regularly from friends who just want to be nice and supporting...but not knowing 1. how hard it is to get to that level and 2. how much my images suck)

I dunno. When doctors and lawyers call their businesses 'practices' it doesn't seem very professional or confidence inspiring.

An all time favorite of many of us here:
"Wow... That camera must take very good photos!"
"If I had a camera like that, I could take just as good photos."
"Sure, and if you had a Steinway, you could play the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto number 3 like Olga Kern."
"Okay, and if you had a paintbrush, you could paint like Renoir."
