Basically it tells you to type in an artist or song you like, then it creates a playlist of artist that are similar and streams them!
The library is extensive, I have typed in small local indie bands, and I knew them!

I saw Joe Lovano a few years ago too - Trio Fascination. What a great show. Got to meet him afterwards as well. Super nice guy.
