I just finished making a phono preamp (solid state unfortunately) that sounds quite good. Paired it with an old Technics SL23 turntable that I rescued from the trash pile and then had to rebuild. Chet Baker is sounding excellent.... well I guess he's sounding monotonic and moody, but that's Chet. All through one of my recent tube amp experimental builds Next up is Thomas Dolby...a good vinyl for this moment.

Donald Fagan with Doobie Brothers on vinyl on my Marantz..the crackles on vinyl are like film grain i think.
